Two weeks into an NYC summer and it is as fun and festive as it is hot and sticky- so a good skirt is a must have. A little bit of breeze on the legs keep me going on these miles-long weekend strolls in the city. I needed something to wear for a weekend roof-top BBQ in the city and found this look last week at Aritzia during their Summer Sale (still happening y’all). Lately I have been training myself to stick to the white and black color scheme when shopping, a classic look that makes things easy when planning an outfit for the heat.
I have been obsessed with off the shoulder shirts since I saw Sandy from Grease go total Grease Lightening in the end (spoiler alert). I think collarbones are one of the classiest attributes on a woman, and take a little coconut oil mixed with some NYC sweat and you get one pretty sexy-chic neckline for a summer BBQ. Best of all, forget about the strappy tan lines- but still use sunscreen of course and mind the arms.
To finish off my hot summer BBQ look I use a bit of RMS Master Mixer to illuminate the cheeks which gives a really natural summer glow, a no-make-up fresh look. My favorite look is always going to be clean and simple, so RMS is a line I can really, really appreciate.
My new favorite weekend summer bag is this super affordable H&M jute bag I found online in their home section. Its the perfect bag for my trips to the farmers market, and actually in this photo I am carrying an entire watermelon mint salad (recipe coming soon).
