This stuff is GOLD for many reasons. I sip on this golden steamy liquid a few times a week to replace my second cup of coffee around lunch time. Turmeric has loads of health benefits and my favorite being that it helps with inflammation. I am the type of person who gets on a plane, takes off her boots and then can’t put them back on after landing. My body swells up in steam rooms, after working out, and eating something a little too salty. SO much swelling (and TMI?). This golden milk is my vice and tastes like a little reward too. Basically its my GOLD… I feel better when I make it and enjoy the taste and love that it truly is rewarding my body too.
1 tbsp ground turmeric
1/2 cup soaked cashews (soak 1/2 cup for 2 hours)
1 1/2 cup water
1 tsp cardamom, ginger , and/or cinnamon **optional and fun to play around with
a pinch of black pepper or cayenne
Pour all ingredients into a high speed blender.
Blend on high until it is milk consistency (about 1-2 minutes)
If you have the Vitamix you can actually heat the milk by using the high speed option and blending for about 5 minutes.
If you don’t you can pour the milk into a cup and microwave for about 1 to 2 minutes or heat over a stovetop until its steamy.
**If you have cashew milk already simply add a tbsp of turmeric to cashew milk, along with dates, and spices and blend in the blender until it reaches desired milk consistency.
** You can also add MCT oil, matcha powder, or collegen powder for a extra kick of energy and a nice meal replacement.
